S Series AO90TPAMF — DIP Switch Settings
Service manual extract focused on DIP switch settings only (no tables). Use the exact DIP switch numbers as printed on the printed circuit board.
Site practice note:
- Where the manual states “setting forbidden” or “factory setting”, do not alter the DIP switch positions in the field.
- For modes that require a timed ON state (for example pump down / forced defrost), follow the minimum “ON time” stated below, then return the switch to OFF when complete.
OUTDOOR UNIT OPERATION CONTROL
TEST RUN (Outdoor unit DIP switch SW1)
SW1.SW1-1 and SW1-2 — Test run selector (Cooling / Heating)
- SW1-1 OFF + SW1-2 OFF: Normal operation
- SW1-1 OFF + SW1-2 ON: Cooling test run (switch ON state maintained continuously for more than 1 minute)
- SW1-1 ON + SW1-2 OFF: Heating test run (same timing requirement as cooling test run)
- SW1-1 ON + SW1-2 ON: Normal operation
SW1-3 — Pump down operation
- SW1-3 OFF: Release
- SW1-3 ON: Operate (toggle OFF→ON and keep ON continuously for more than 30 seconds)
SW1-4 — Forced defrost operation
- SW1-4 OFF: Release
- SW1-4 ON: Operate (toggle OFF→ON and keep ON continuously for more than 30 seconds)
FUNCTION AND SETTING OF EACH SWITCH (Outdoor unit DIP switch SW2)
SW2.SW2-1 — Night operation fan mode (low-noise night mode)
- SW2-1 OFF: Release
- SW2-1 ON: Operate
SW2-2 — Snow falling protection fan mode
- SW2-2 OFF: Release
- SW2-2 ON: Operate (outdoor fan periodically runs to reduce snow coverage risk, even if the compressor is stopped)
SW2-3 — Expansion valve initialization (Electronic expansion valve pulse reset)
- SW2-3 OFF: Release
- SW2-3 ON: Operate (initializes the number of pulses when the outdoor unit is stopped)
SW2-4 — Forced oil recovery operation
- SW2-4 OFF: Release
- SW2-4 ON: Operate (manual start of oil recovery)
FUNCTION AND SETTING OF EACH SWITCH (Outdoor unit DIP switch SW5 / SW3 / SW4)
SW5, SW3, and SW4.SW5-3 — Base heater validity / invalidity
- SW5-3 OFF: Base heater invalid
- SW5-3 ON: Base heater valid (output at CN5)
Operational note: the base heater output turns ON at an outside temperature of 2 °C or less and during heating operation (field-available base heater is 220–240V AC, 35W).
SW5-1, SW5-2, SW5-4 — Setting forbidden
Do not change: DIP switch SW5-1, SW5-2, and SW5-4 are specified as forbidden.
SW3 and SW4 — Setting forbidden
Do not change: DIP switch SW3-1, SW3-2, SW3-3, SW3-4 and DIP switch SW4-1, SW4-2, SW4-3, SW4-4 are specified as forbidden.
INDOOR UNIT OPERATION
FUNCTION AND SETTING OF EACH SWITCH (Indoor unit DIP switch SW1)
SW1.SW1-1 and SW1-2 — Ceiling height setting (cassette type only)
The manual specifies that this function is valid only for cassette type indoor units.
- Standard (2.5–3.0 m): SW1-1 OFF + SW1-2 OFF
- High ceiling 1 (3.0–3.5 m): SW1-1 ON + SW1-2 OFF
- High ceiling 2 (more than 3.5 m): SW1-1 OFF + SW1-2 ON
- Low ceiling (less than 2.5 m): SW1-1 ON + SW1-2 ON
SW1-3 and SW1-4 — Room temperature correction coefficient (heating)
Select the heating temperature correction coefficient value as printed in the manual.
- 0 deg: SW1-3 OFF + SW1-4 ON
- +4 deg: SW1-3 OFF + SW1-4 OFF
- +8 deg: SW1-3 ON + SW1-4 OFF
- +12 deg: SW1-3 ON + SW1-4 ON
FUNCTION AND SETTING OF EACH SWITCH (Indoor unit DIP switch SW2)
SW2.SW2-1 — Room temperature correction coefficient (cooling)
- 0 deg: SW2-1 OFF
- +2 deg: SW2-1 ON
SW2-2 — Zone control switch
- Zone control valid: SW2-2 ON
- Zone control invalid: SW2-2 OFF
SW2-3 — Filter check validity / invalidity (filter cleaning function)
- Filter check valid: SW2-3 ON
- Filter check invalid: SW2-3 OFF
SW2-4 — Auto restart validity / invalidity
- Auto restart valid: SW2-4 ON
- Auto restart invalid: SW2-4 OFF
FUNCTION AND SETTING OF EACH SWITCH (Indoor unit DIP switch SW3 and SW4)
SW3 and SW4.SW3-1, SW3-2, SW3-3 — Indoor unit fan speed switch
The fan speed selection has multiple “rotation tables” and is selected based on indoor unit model. Treat this as a factory-set item unless you are explicitly performing a model-code printed circuit board configuration procedure.
SW3-4 — Setting forbidden
Do not change: DIP switch SW3-4 is specified as forbidden.
SW4-1, SW4-2, SW4-3 (SW4-4 fixed OFF) — Indoor unit model code (capacity)
SW4 is used to change the indoor unit model code information on the indoor unit printed circuit board. The manual shows SW4-4 as OFF.
Model code (capacity) mappings
- Model code 60: SW4-1 ON, SW4-2 OFF, SW4-3 ON, SW4-4 OFF
- Model code 54: SW4-1 OFF, SW4-2 OFF, SW4-3 ON, SW4-4 OFF
