FUNCTION AND SETTING OF EACH SWITCH
Outdoor Unit – DIP Switches (Outdoor Unit PCB)
SW1-1: Cooling test run — OFF = Release, ON = Operate.SW1-2: Heating test run — OFF = Release, ON = Operate.SW1-3: Pump down — OFF = Release, ON = Operate.SW1-4: Forced defrost — OFF = Release, ON = Operate.
Operational constraint: Forced operations typically require the switch to remain ON continuously for at least 30 seconds after toggling.
SW2-1: Silent operation — OFF = Release, ON = Operate.SW2-2: Snow switch — OFF = Release, ON = Operate.SW2-3andSW2-4: Sequential start / start timing shift.- SW2-3 OFF and SW2-4 OFF → Shift time 0 seconds.

SW6-3: Defrost capacity selection — OFF = Standard, ON = Large.SW6-4: Setting forbidden.
SW7-1andSW7-2: Outdoor unit system type selection:- SW7-1 OFF + SW7-2 OFF → Heat pump (factory setting).
- SW7-1 ON + SW7-2 ON → Cooling only.
- Any other combination: Forbidden.
SW7-3: Refrigerant type — OFF = R22, ON = R407C.SW7-4: Model code — OFF = 90, ON = 72.
This switch bank is typically factory-configured; adjust only where the service procedure explicitly requires it.
Rotary SW9: Refrigerant circuit address (first digit / high nibble).Rotary SW8: Refrigerant circuit address (second digit / low nibble).
Treat the rotary switch positions as hexadecimal digits: 0–9 represent 0–9, and A–F represent 10–15. The refrigerant circuit address (decimal) is calculated as:
Refrigerant circuit address = (SW9 × 16) + SW8
Valid address range is 0 to 99. Any SW9/SW8 combination that produces a value outside 0–99 must not be used.
Example: SW9 = 1 and SW8 = E (14) ⇒ (1 × 16) + 14 = 30.
Indoor Unit – DIP Switches (Indoor Unit PCB, General Indoor Units)
SW1-1: Setting forbidden.SW1-2: Setting forbidden.SW1-3andSW1-4: Heating room temperature correction selection:- SW1-3 OFF + SW1-4 OFF → Standard (factory setting).
- SW1-3 ON + SW1-4 OFF → Increase +1 °C.
- SW1-3 OFF + SW1-4 ON → Increase +2 °C.
- SW1-3 ON + SW1-4 ON → Increase +3 °C.
SW2-1: Cooling room temperature correction:- OFF → Standard (factory setting).
- ON → Decrease −1 °C.
SW2-2: Setting forbidden.SW2-3: Filter reset selection:- OFF → Filter sign resets after 200 hours (factory setting).
- ON → Filter sign resets after 1000 hours.
SW2-4: Auto restart validity:- OFF → Invalid (factory setting).
- ON → Valid.
Indoor Unit – DIP Switches (Compact Wall Mounted Type Indoor Unit)
- Model code information is configured using the dedicated model code setting switch on the indoor unit PCB (as provided for the relevant indoor unit model family).
SW1-1andSW1-2define fan speed selection (factory-configured per indoor unit model code group).SW1-3andSW1-4define fan speed selection (factory-configured per indoor unit model code group).
Where the indoor unit family uses model code groups (for example, “AS7”, “AS9”, “AS12”, “AS14”), the correct fan speed setting is selected to match that group.
SW2-1: Setting forbidden (must remain as specified by the PCB marking).SW2-2: Setting forbidden (must remain as specified by the PCB marking).SW2-3: Auto restart validity:- OFF → Invalid (factory setting).
- ON → Valid.
SW2-4: Setting forbidden.
This indoor unit type sets refrigerant circuit address (0–99) by combining SW3-1, SW3-2, SW3-3 (as the high portion) with Rotary SW5 (as the low portion).
Treat the rotary switch position as a hexadecimal digit: 0–9 represent 0–9, and A–F represent 10–15.
Compute the “high value” from SW3 as follows (OFF = 0, ON = 1):
High value = (SW3-1 × 1) + (SW3-2 × 2) + (SW3-3 × 4)
Then calculate:
Refrigerant circuit address = (High value × 16) + (Rotary SW5 value)
Valid address range is 0 to 99. If High value = 6, Rotary SW5 must be limited to 0–3 to remain within 96–99. Any setting that yields > 99 must not be used.
SW3-4: Setting forbidden (must remain OFF as specified).
Wired, Simple Remote Controller – DIP Switches
- Dual remote controller setting (DIP No.1 and DIP No.2)
- 1 remote controller (Normal): Master remote controller → DIP No.1 = ON, DIP No.2 = OFF.
- 2 remote controllers (Dual):
- Master remote controller → DIP No.1 = OFF, DIP No.2 = OFF.
- Slave remote controller → DIP No.1 = ON, DIP No.2 = ON.
- Group control setting / number of indoor unit connection (DIP No.3)
- DIP No.3 = OFF → One indoor unit connection (factory setting).
- DIP No.3 = ON → Multiple indoor unit connection.
- Model setting (DIP No.4)
- DIP No.4 = OFF → Heat pump model or heat recovery model (factory setting).
- DIP No.4 = ON → Cooling only model.
ADDRESS SETTING
- Refrigerant circuit address: 0 to 99 (set on both indoor and outdoor units for each refrigerant system).
- Indoor unit address: 0 to 15.
- Remote controller address: set in the order 0, 1, 2, 3 (blank is not allowed).
- Central remote controller address: 0 to 15 (where applicable).
Where a “forbidden” switch is identified, it must not be altered from the specified state.
- Indoor unit address: set using the indoor unit address rotary switch (range 0–15).
- Refrigerant circuit address: set using indoor unit rotary switches for refrigerant circuit addressing (range 0–99). Apply the same hexadecimal-to-decimal method described for outdoor unit rotary SW8/SW9.
- Remote controller address: set using the remote controller address rotary switch.
- Termination / specific DIP requirements: where the indoor unit PCB specifies certain DIP positions as mandatory (for example, “Always set DIP SW 2-1 and 2-2 to OFF”), those must remain at the mandatory state.
- Use
Rotary SW9(high) andRotary SW8(low). - Calculate: address = (SW9 × 16) + SW8.
- Confirm result is within 0–99 before energising the system.
- Calculate: High value = (SW3-1 × 1) + (SW3-2 × 2) + (SW3-3 × 4).
- Calculate: address = (High value × 16) + (Rotary SW5 value).
- Keep the final result within 0–99 (if High value = 6, Rotary SW5 must be 0–3).
TEST RUN
- Cooling test run: set
SW1-1to ON to operate, OFF to release. - Heating test run: set
